A full size bronze statue of G. K. Moopanar will be unveiled here on July 3. Sculptured by M. Mani Nagappa, a renowned master craftsman, the statue will be unveiled by the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Deputy Chief Minister, M. K. Stalin, and Union Minister of Shipping G.K.Vasan, are taking part in the function.
Announcing this to presspersons here, M. Rajangam, president of Thanjavur north district unit, said that the statue was made by contributions from Congress men of Thanjavur district. The 7.75 ft statue will be installed opposite Uchipillaiyar Koil at Kumbakonam.
