RAJASTHAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION FUNCTION


the Centre and the State will work together to put an end to the attack on Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy, Union Shipping Minister G.K.Vasan said here on Sunday.

Talking to reporters after participating in the 47th annual book distribution function of the Rajasthan Youth Association (RYA), Mr. Vasan described as highly condemnable the attacks on fisherman by the Sri Lankan Navy.

Stating that the Union government had taken many steps in the past to resolve the issue, he said the Congress party in Tamil Nadu also explained its stand on the issue.

School education

Earlier in a meeting he said the Congress-led UPA government had allocated substantial fund for development of school education. “In the current year alone, Rs. 34,711 crore has been allotted. It is 25 per cent higher than the allotment made in the previous year,” he said adding that around 15 crore students had been benefited by the noon meal scheme. Around Rs.9,000 crore had been earmarked for the scheme.
